  • When Your Child Refuses To Go To School

It’s totally understandable and normal that, at some point, your child is going to refuse to go to school. But when it becomes a regular occurrence and every morning becomes a battle, then that’s when you need some additional strategies and support to help your child become more confident so that they can enjoy their time there.

In this episode I describe what you can do to reduce the chances of your child refusing to go, and what you can do in the heat of the moment.

KEY TAKE AWAYS

#1 – You can do so much with your child at home to help them overcome their fears and build their confidence

#2 – It’s beneficial for your child to feel their upset feelings whilst they’re with you – rather than expecting them to deal with them on their own away from you at school

#3 – Play helps to build your child’s physical confidence which also helps build their emotional confidence

#4 – Be gentle on yourself – you will have your own unhealed hurts from your school experiences

#5 – Reach out for support if you need it.
